Default Folk Metal

If there's already a thread on this, I apologize.

Does anyone here listen to folk metal? I for one do, and I really love it. My favorite bands are Ensiferum, Equilibrium, and Korpiklaani.

What do you think of folk metal? Favorite bands?

i'm still unsure of what gets classified into folk metal. you've got folk metal, viking metal, pirate metal, and the list goes on but to me it's all the same. i like ensiferum and i'm glad you mentioned korpiklaani because i just heard a song from them the other day and liked it but i forgot their name. i haven't really heard much of the genre but the random bands and songs i have come across some are really good. i was just listening to alestorm the other day and they are pretty decent if you can get past the pirate lyrics.

If you want to get into folk metal, try out Ensiferum or Equilibrium if you're currently into metal like Children of Bodom or Norther.

I'm into folk more than metal so this'll either be epic or epic fail.

Look up Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Finntroll and Falchion if you want to see what folk metal is all about

Yeah, didn't figure that it was actually celtic/nordic folk music mixed with metal. Kinda lame actually, but I'm not a metalhead:
