well I would have to say Bon Iver, The Silent Years, Fleet Foxes, The National, and Arcade Fire

None of those are rock or metal bands. But I do agree, Bon Iver is probably the best new artist out there.

i think the newest rock band that i would consider new to me is Dream Theater. yes, they have been around for a while but i enjoy them a lot. especially John Petrucci's cover for Smoke On The Water with the assistance of Steve Vai and Joe Satrianni
