I've always though Jimmy sounded a little bit like Marilyn Manson.

^Yeah, his range is a whole lot better, but just the tone is quite similar and notes that they both can hit.

For me Ozzy is one of the most recognizable voices, maybe just because I listen to so much of his music. Chris cornell is pretty recognizable too, just not as much as Ozzy.

Can we please make a rule that you can't vote in a poll without commenting? cause it's getting pretty damn annoying

I`ve closed it

It was a pointless poll anyway seeing as 'Other' had over twice as many votes as most of the other options.

Actually, looking at the list and reconsidering, I'd say Freddy Mercury, Liam Gallagher and Matt Bellamy. Nobody has sounded like Freddy Mercury at all (apart from a few impersonators in tribute bands, who still don't really get there), same thing with Liam Gallagher, however much people tried to copy him in the 90's, it never really worked for any of them and Matt Bellamy has a weird voice that annoys many people but I've not heard anybody else sing with a voice like it.

I think a lot of the suggestions on here are actually quite stupid, by which I meant the metal wailers and the growlers/screamers. People who grunt or wail as a form of vocals might be very talented in many ways, but even the most distinctive of them isn't all that distinctive.

To put it another way, if you heard each of them singing kareoke to a Kylie song, which ones would you still be able to recognise straight away?

1) Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian).
2) Bruce Dic.kinson. (Iron Maiden).
3) Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray).
4) Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom).
5) Roy Khan (Kamelot).
6) James LaBrie (Dream Theater).
7) Fabio Leone (Rhapsody).
8) Tarja Turunen (Nightwish).
9) Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica).
10) Ralf Scheeper (Primal Fear).

I have left out many (Dio, Ozzy, Dave Mustaine, James Hetfield, Rob Halford, Ihsahn, Johan Hegg, etc.), but this is my top 10.
