I've come to the conclusion my existence here is pointless.

pahuuuta 03-03-2009 12:31 PM

why

ixtlan22 03-03-2009 12:34 PM

I don't think being better at certain technical things is a good reason to choose one guy over the other. I happen to agree with you but only because I think Buckethead is more inventive. Neither would be even on my Top 25 guitar players though I don't think.

pahuuuta 03-03-2009 12:35 PM

let me guess your number ONE is the very overrated jimi hendrix?

ixtlan22 03-03-2009 12:45 PM

Hmmm. I haven't given it much thought but I am a huge Hendrix fan. He's one of the most (if not the most) expressive guitar players ever. I know he was sloppy. I like slop in an electric guitar player. Also I sometimes think of the electric guitar as a noise maker more than anything else. Jimi made some great noises.

If you want to bring up technical ability, well John McLaughlin is better than both Wylde and Buckethead in my opinion. By far. I only mention him because I figure you've probably at least heard of him. A guitar player you might not know that I think is better than all of the above is Ben Monder. If you want to hear an inventive and technically ridiculous musician you should look into this guy.

thought so

This Vs. thread makes me want to vomit.

I guess Bukethead, if I had to suffer one or the other.
