I love covers because it can highlight areas of a song you might hae missed in the original studio version. This is a classic example...

guess it depends on what you focus on when you listen. that was actually one of my favourite parts in the track, the build up right before it kicks in heavy again for the outro. the solo it leads into is all bluesy and was wicked fun to play back in the day.

rather misleading clip title too but whatever haha

yeah exactly, i see 'Metallica's Orion played on piano' i'm expecting some pretty epic piano playing. big heavy chord resonating at the start, furious percussive banging in the build ups, insanity in the leads.

that clip was impressive and all for what it is, but where are the other 7 minutes of the track?

Well I don't know if the sound quality is as good, but this kid seems to (so far) nail all the appropriate movements. (first time listening right now).

Apocalyptica also do a good job of showing just how much beauty Metallica pour into their music!

Hmm I like S@M just because I am a classical nerd, but there is certain songs like "The Thing That Should Not Be" that sound better with the orchestra, and songs like "Master of Puppets" that could have been left alone. I also like all of Metallica's studio albums. Saw them live at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids Michigan... was the best night ever! lol.
