The opening, the main riff. Too good. Then, it got to 2:35. God damn I hate that part of the song and play it forever. It's so damn boring. I was pumped up, then I'm like "Is this ****ing song ever going to end" It felt like 10 minutes long. If you really want I can give you more instances of Metallica syndrome. It's also on the earlier albums, but acceptable to a certain extent. Maybe "hate" wasn't the right word. More like it's Ok, but I don't think it's anywhere near as good as I make it out to be. Also, thy seem to add extra unnecessary part to the song to make it longer. I'm looking at you Shortest Straw.
Don't Metallica have a right to have this so called 'Metallica Syndrome' if you don't like Metallica syndrome then don't listen to Metallica! personally AJFA is not one of my favorite Metallica albums at the time it seemed that Lars was leading the band to his mission to be the most innovitive metal drummer ever, but still not a bad album at all

I called it Metallica syndrome because Metallica is the biggest offender I can think of. I like their first 3. but AJFA just irritates me. Also, I don't see in any way, shape, or form how Lars is the most innovative metal drummer.

AHHH Metallica. I love them. Ive loved them for 10 years now. The old stuff blew me away and got me into the heavy music i like now :P people give them a bad rap becuase of lars. but come on, they have been around for what 26 years?!?!?! They deserve some credit. I think they need to stop though. and lars needs to stop talking, he is a sub par drummer and should of been replaced long ago.

It's his band though. He can hardly be replaced can he?

That is true. But he has done a lot to soil there reputation. And his drumming leaves a lot to be desired. I would like to maybe here what they could do with a new one. But like i said. I really think they need to call it quits. Death Magnetic is ok so why not go out with a decent album? Im sick of them saying "OH this new record is going to be master of puppets 2 yadda yadda yadda"

I would not mind maybe hearing some side projects. I just think Metallica has run its course. But more power to them i guess for keeping on.

I don't disagree with many things you say here at all. I was just stating that he won't be replaced. A couple of side projects would be interesting for sure.

Yeah him being replaced is just a "what if" i have always thought about. I could see James putting out some bluesy music. I would like to see what he could do if he had total control over the music. Not sure what Hammett would do.
