Easy. Track 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Now you tell me where the blues is on the Black Album.

Depends what you mean by hard rock. If you're thinking along of the lines of Aerosmith, AC/DC, Motley Crue etc then obviously it doesnt go hand in hand with anything like that.

The Black Album was though, the beginning of the departure from the thrash metal orientated Metallica into more generic and mainstream rock with the likes of Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven etc.

Yes, I do. I wrote "track 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5" to emphasize that it doesn't really matter much which you pick.

By hard rock, I mean "hard rock", not something I made up myself.

Read this and see if you still think that it describes the Black Album very well :

.. which is why I asked pahuuuta to point out the blues in Metallica.

Good riposte .. Oh wait, no it's not.

Don't say that it's hard rock when you don't even know what hard rock is.

Thats why I butted in, I had a feeling you were referring to the genre while pahuuuta was more just looking for something to describe the album. Hard rock is a terrible name for a genre to be fair as just by name alone you could throw so much music under that umbrella.

Anyway, yes The Black Album isnt Hard-rock like the bands I mentioned before are Hard-rock but it was the start of the transition into a new direction for Metallica. It was eased in, I think there are a few tracks on there that are still quite heavy but its a rock record.

It's heavy metal. How are you going to say it's not...when Metallica played a big part in defining what heavy metal is.

Just cause times changes doesn't make it non-metal.

Metallica will always be (with the exception of Load and ReLoad) 100% metal.

So just because times change doesnt make Metallica non metal, but also at the same time Load and Reload arent metal? That doesnt make sense.

Even if they make a folk album?
