Demonoid, I'll try those tracks.

What songs from the bands I'm getting recommended would you guys recommend (early afternoon, limited vocabulary)?
Well, those weren't exactly tracks, but albums .

But anyways, how about these -

YouTube - Gojira - Flying Whales (A bit lengthy, but their best IMO)
YouTube - Gojira - Ocean Planet (The opening riff will leave you speechless)
YouTube - Godflesh- Christbait Rising (all their songs have this simplicity about them, but yet are so heavy and mechanical)
YouTube - Wintersun - Sleeping Stars (Similar to...CoB I suppose)
YouTube - Winter sun - Battle Against Time
YouTube - Meshuggah-Future Breed Machine (And if mastadon's drummer is mad, this guy is even worse )

I'll post more after I get back here in a bit...I'll even up some of these if you want.

I'm trying to impress a certain someone with a playlist of songs from hardcore/heavy metal/thrash/speed metal bands she hasn't heard before.

I'm looking for things that sound fantastic, remaining faithful to the genre but at the same time stepping out of it.

Bands like Fucked Up, Mastodon, Refused, Nightwish - she also likes Children of Bodom (of-course).

I already have In Flames, Slayer and Harvey Milk.

What do you guys suggest?

_. hmm suffocate band, song title "Forever".
parkwaydrive band, otep band..
Hoodz, song title "i own you".

Just listen to this band,
