pretty much the best metal band ever! i like all of there songs. i first heard of them from there cartoon show on adult swim and loved it. it was just mindles blood and gore witch is perfect for me.

just wanted to see if any one else had heard of them and liked them.

I absolutely love them~ I saw them last year with Chimaira and Soilent Green! Season 1/ Dethalbum were awesome. Favourite song has to be either Murmaider or Detharmonic. Can't wait for Season 2 to come to Canadaaaaa =]

The show is hilarious.
You know Chris Barnes from Cannibal Corpse/ Six Feet Under does the vocals?

Nooooo, Brandon Smalls does the voices of Nathan, Skwisgaar and Pickles and Tommy Blancha does the voices of Toki and Murderface.
But they based Nathan off the lead singer of Cannibal Corpse.
ALSO. Mark Hamill as voice cast!?!

I didn't want to make a new thread so I'm bumping this one. I (obviously, if you've seen my avatar) quite like Metalocalypse. And Elephant Sack is right. It was Corpsegrinder, not Barnes. BUT it was Brandon Small who does the voice of Nathan Explosion. Fisher does the voice of the Executioner, the brother of the assassin that was sent to kill Dethklok and killed by Murderface's cod-piece :)

Favourite song, as you can probably guess from my sig is Bloodtrocuted.

i like hatredcopter a lot for some reason...i find it hilarious. i like how this band can poke fun at all the typical metal stuff while taking it serious at the same time.

I find Dethklok to very much a satirical Melodeath band. They take the mickey out of Death Metal through their songs about death, destruction and murder. That is generally what people think DM is about anyways, so they play a joke about it. I love watching the Coffee Jingle! Death Metal COFFEE!!!!

I find Dethklok has some interesting ideas that have been input into their music.
For example, you get songs like Murmaider, Coffee Jingle, Bloodrocuted, Hatred Copter and Birthday Dethday.

The music I like, although I'd not say it is anywhere near the best example of Death Metal anywhere in the world, it is lighthearted and gets the job done as far as it does what you'd expect a Death Metal band to sound like.

The show, I honestly cannot stand. I tried to watch the first series, and I could notunderstand why there was so much hype about the show. I cant really remember anything that ever made me laugh out loud, most of the jokes raised a smile from me and that was it.

Maybe I should give it another chance (I have the DVD, and they are only 10 minutes or so long iirc).

I love the show. The music...is ok. There are a few songs that are ok, but nothing getting too excited about.

Metalocalypse had me in stiches the firs time I saw it.
My favorite bits of the show would be the episode where they try to go food shopping, the death phones, and Murderface's "No big deal, it's just totally diamond encrusted with a titanium base".

As for the music, well it's a good laugh but I don't really take it seriously.

The show is pretty funny. The band is pretty good.

On the show they serve there purpose. They're brutal and have crazy ass concerts which are histarical. As a band they're okay just ordinary death metal.

I have a bit of trouble listening to them off the show. But Brendon Small does have some good idea's and changes up the music.
I would love to see them live in concert!!

okay dethklok is a metal band from a adult swim cartoon called metalocalypse.

they have great songs such as hateredcopter, go into the water and kill you.

so if you haven't heard of them yet you should check'em out on youtube.

I've heard better Metal bands, but they're okay. Then again, I've only heard Bloodlines.

this may sound weird but i think go into the water would be an awsome track to make out with a girl to.

Thoughts on Dethalbum III? I like it, sounds good, but I kinda feel they're losing on the whole parody/comedy aspect.

They are sweet, but I'm really only a fan of the first dethalbum. The others are okay but not near as bad ass.

Their first album was mediocre, which is understandable because it's just a compilation of songs from the show. I like how Small was like "I'm actually gonna try and seriously make a legit album" and then released one of my personal favorite melodic death albums (dethalbum II). Dethalbum III? I like it so far, I haven't been listening to it for long enough to form an opinion yet, but I plan on writing a review on it when that time comes around. Bloodlines, one of my favorite headbanging tracks ;)
