I listened to a CD I made of all my favorite John Lennon songs from my various albums (it's not a bootleg, I ain't no pirate). Here's the track listing
1. Imagine 2. Mother 3. Beautiful Boy 4. Instant Karma! 5. Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds 6. Cold Turkey 7. #9 Dream 8. Strawberry Fields Forever 9. Woman is the ****** of the World 10. Working Class Hero 11. Revolution 12. Give Peace a Chance 13. Jealous Guy 14. Come Together 15. Power to the People It think it's a shame that every year MTV honors the death of Tupac Shakur but barely, if ever, mentions the death of John Lennon (at least, as far as I can tell; I've certainly never seen it on there). I'm not trying to disrespect Tupac or say we shouldn't remember him, but John Lennon was a veritable genius who revolutionized modern music in innumerable ways and is a cultural icon. To even compare him to Tupac is disgraceful. |
^ some would say pac revolutionized modern rap and is also a cultural icon. the comparison is not disgraceful, it just doesnt make sense because pac and lennon influenced two different genres.

I don't know, I don't think its disgraceful, but just because alot of attention starved well-off white kids wear your t-shirts and pretend their thugs gets you "revolutionary" status. |
dude i am joking when i talk like that, i always joke around with my friends when i dun it.

In my opinion John Lennon was by far the greatest musician ever.. While i sadly wasnt around when he was, i've been brought up on Lennon thanks to my parents havin great taste, and i'm fricken glad they did! He revolutionised the world with his music & will always be an icon for peace, love and rebellion.. I too listened to Lennon all day on the 8th, as i'm sure so many did.. anyways, love u lennon, forever.. live on
