I'd say there's a marked differences between intelligence and amassing that which symbolizes intelligence.
Really, Black Metal seems to be dominated by idiot-savants. When people try to fit lofty ideas in a genre which is necessarily rather cramped aesthetically, it comes off as forced and unnatural. (EDIT) So, to your point, I'd say they're boring and not memorable. I'd rather listen Havohej, thanks.
