and in reference to your LP statement, it all depends on your tastes, if you like the new metal thing then you werent gonna be a fan of 60s music (though zeppelins debut album was in the 60s and they started heavy metal, nvm). its all about opinions at the end of the day.
I'm a big fan of 60's 70's music. The LP statement had nothing to do with taste, The records actually had snap, crackles and pops on them. It sure was great to hear a clean version of Dark Side of the Moon on CD.

Early 60's music was
god awful bubblegum.
Mid 60's music was better if you liked
the snap, crackle, pop, from the lp's
It wasn't all that great,
There were riots and protests,
not to mention the draft, all that's left from the 60's
are the 58,000 names on the wall.
who cares about dvds and vcrs and all the other useless crap u mentioned, the 60's was a great fukin period in time.

You are my people. I love the ideals of that time period I would give anything to be around back then. The main problem was the world is simply not the same place as it was 40 years ago.. Multinational corps. have made sure that no more outburts of peace, love, and non-consumerism will occur. From now on all new cultural "revolutions" are going to be brought on BY and for the purpose of commercialism. The world is tainted.

But really, if you want to live in that type of.. environment.. just go for it man, thats what I do.. I just live up to my own ideals, which happen to be very sympathetic with those of the 60's.

PS - I just happened to be listening to the Yellow Submarine Soundtrack by The Beatles when I found this thread. (watch that movie stoned)

There was just as much crap music in the 60s as there is now.

People always look at the past with rose tinted glasses.

No people only want to remember the good things about the past, why remember the bad?

I`m still waiting for examples of great some psychedelic bands. I`ve only seen 8 mentioned so far & i`ve heard all of those. So far nobody has mentioned the Pretty Things , Creation or 13th Floor Elevators & i`m not even that knowledgable about the genre.

Ahh thats better

Don`t know if i`d class Captain Beefheart as psychadelic though maybe some of his stuff can be classed as that, but I think he`s much broader than the term implies.
