Sure...Hostile may not have beed the best solo he ever did but, aside from just throwing a name out there, I was considering overall song quality. It's just such an air-tight song, ripped through the solo masterfully and then back out again... awesome. New school has some great stuff out there too... The Human Abstract anyone?

In the Led Zep album "How the West was Won" the solo from Immigrant Song is pretty blistering. Most of Page's stuff is.
Adding to that I'd say Steve Winwood when he's in a rock mood on some track like Dear Mr Fantasy goes down well |
