brian molko
frank black
trent reznor
I've never thought of Thurston Moore as a frontman in a classic rock sense, because when I think of him I always think of Lee Ranaldo as well and their awesome guitar duels. I don't think Sonic Youth has a classic frontman, because if Thurston is one, then so is Kim Gordon. And to me, she's the most charismatic member of Sonic Youth.

All three are pretty unique and compliment each other perfectly.

Michael Gira (Swans, The Angels of Light)
Mike Hard (God Bullies, Thrall)
Ian Curtis (Joy Division)
David Yow (Scratch Acid, Jesus Lizard, Qui)
Guy Picciotto (Rites of Spring, Fugazi) *Guy brings all the crazy energy to Fugazi

In no particular order I'd say:

Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)
Corey Taylor (Slipknot)
Hayley Williams (Paramore)
Serj Tankian (System of a Down)
Freddie Mercury (Queen)

Not necessarily because I love their music, but because they are/were great at being frontmen in terms of being an image for the band, making their live shows stand out, etc.
