And the music the frontman and his band produces.. If someone dislikes The Rolling Stones music, even though Mick Jagger is absolutely brilliant at what he does, they aren't going to put them in their top 5 GREATEST front men list are they? Even though he's pretty much what you want from a front man..

The word "greatest" would imply a lack of bias when considering it. If it were "favorite", it would be a different story.

I ****ing loathe the Rolling Stone's music, and that man is still a great frontman who I would rank up near the top.

Matt Shadows.... Neil Young.

I don't consider bands I dislike's frontmen 'great.'

Either way I don't think Eddy Vedder is top 5 material for greatest front men. Cobain, Ian Curtis, Morrissey, Plant, Ozzy, Jagger, Mercury Jack White, Nick Cave > Vedder.

As far as Cobain is concerned, I don't know. He was kind of a ****, and had all the same pressures as Vedder... except Cobain buckled and shot himself in the face.

You tell me who's "greater". The one who broke and killed himself, or the one who's still around writing music?

The only flaw in this argument is the one who lives continues to churn out dire middle of the road dross.
