and thusly pre-dated the genre by a good 7 years.

Metallica always were innovators.

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

I'm seeing Metallica live on Dec. 20th.
I'm stoked!

I've come to a conclusion about this.

With everyone perched like hawks waiting to decry this album, and with people giving it begrudging respect with regard to a few songs, the album must be a master piece.

I've not heard the album but when only the snarkiest of the "look at me I'm rebellious" crowd gave this the thumbs down, I know that must mean that by virtue of how loudly they pronounce that opinion, it must be second only to Ride the Lightning, which is their best album because on first hearing it, it killed three grandmothers and a kitten.

And I think this is great. I mean the amount of abuse they've taken since 1992is unwarranted and over the top. The vindication given to them by Rick "The Hammer" Rubin is well deserved, and this album is far better than anything Killswitch Engage or Arch Enemy has ever put out.

**** you haters, my logic is sound, my predictions are vindicated, and my hands are throwing horns.

I still havn't heard the album. And I hated "The Day that Never comes"

You still have'nt heard the album but already those that don't like the album are wrong? This is essentially what you are saying. The most fucked up logic I have read on here for a while. Your bias towards Metallica seems to be clouding your otherwise coherent and well written posts on these boards.

I have this magic power where no matter how obviously ****ed up something I'm saying it, people address it as if I'm serious and it tends to turn normal rational folks into raving maniacs.

Also, when I say magic powers I mean curse.

I think the new Metallica is good I really enjoyed Death Magnetic and St. Anger was just meh however, it did make a good movie ("Some kind of Monster"). I do think though that there previous work "Kill 'em all" - "Metallca" were there best work up to date.
