My favorite Metallica songs used to be stuff like Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman, ..And Justice For All, and all the other stuff with cool riffs that's fun to learn on the guitar. But now, that new song that's out, "The Day that Never Comes", is not only fun on the guitar, but the vocals are the best I've ever heard coming from that man. The song combines the best vocals of Metallica with guitar as complex and beautiful as Classical Gas.
This is just my opinion, I don't knw if anybody else agrees with me.

Saying Metallica would be better without James is....absurd, however. James' vocals may not be as great as they used to be, but having anyone else sing for Metallica........I don't think I could bare to listen to it. |

that's what im saying. i mean imagine having Dustin Kensrue (lead singer of Thrice) singing for Metallica, admittadly it'd be pretty interesting but at the same time, it just wouldn't be the same. Metallica is good the way they are, even if their old stuff is slightly better, i do think the amount of experience for the guitarist have increased in their new album however.

Hell, I can't bear to download another rip....damned dial up. Wish I had em' though. But yeah, Kirk practiced alot for this album....and it shows up. He may not have done solos on St. Anger, but he definately didn't stop practicing.
