I'm glad Paul gilbert is up there. The first song I ever heard from him was The Echo Song. I looked into his music further and Its very innovative stuff. If you haven't heard of him before i suggest looking into it. Hes got live videos all over youtube.

But as for my fave: Paul Gilbert is the coolest. Yngwie obviously is the best (he is the most technically skilled guitarist ever). Petrucci is a close second to Yngwie and obviously is in the best band of all of them and writes the best stuff. But my fave has to go to the master himself who started it all, Mr Satriani

I've heard enough DT to form an opinion on Pettrucci, they're my roomate's favorite band, and I've listened to Vai, Satriani, and Malmsteen albums.
