Default Cult Of Luna

Yes the album 'Somewhere Along The Highway' is a couple of years old but it is fucking immense. Just listen and love:

Somewhere Along The Highway is a great album! Yeah, Immense is what i would use as well. One of my favorite "post-metal" or lets just keep it post-rock group.(I know you hate sub-genres )
'Salvation' is quite good as well. I definitely liked it! Have you listened to pelican's S/T EP? I'm sure you'll love it, more or less in similar vein. In fact, I think it even tops 'Somewhere Along The Highway' for me. Damn immense and heavy. Only downside is that It's an EP and is only 4-tracks long.
I hope this thread doesn't get lost, as it's in the rock/metal section.

I'd say start with their S/T EP first and not Australasia. Its crushing, heavy and has this post-rock kinda feel as well.

I started out with the Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw (great album title, I know ).

Autumn into Summer is so uplifting.

I haven't explored much other than their EP and Australasia. The EP sounds a lot like Isis, minus the vocals of course.(a bit more heavier as well)
