Any band that can't play live what they make in the studio isn't worth my time. I don't want to see a band play exactly like the studio version, but the music should be able to stand on it's own. Example, if the truck transporting the theatric part of GWAR's show was delayed and they had to perform without it, the concert would be nothing like what they usually do, and the music would be lame without all the BS. I recently saw the Codetalkers (do a google) at a small outdoor venue on a night when it was storming very heavily. Did they cancel? No, they went acoustic and provided the small crowd with a one-of-a-kind show to remember. That's what it's all about.

Some one mentioned a live album....! yeah i'm pretty sure they did, well anyway on that topic i don't think the live albums are any good, i would rather the full studio stuff or actually be their in person feeling the energy of the full event.
Not a fan of You Am I but i saw them down at the tassie falls festival and Tim Rogers was off his nut and was missing out full lines and guitar riffs, after a couple of songs when Tim was dribbling the most **** ever dribbled, the bass player came over and grabbed him and dragged him off stage! Sic **** Classic example of live being better then studio lol |

I won't debate the merits or lack thereof of a GWAR show with someone who thinks enough of them to sustain a thread or threads about them. Go see about 300 more shows of other bands and then weigh in with an informed opinion. As for the "nooby" part, you've got me there. I've been here for almost a year but usually just watch and laugh at the idiocy of it all. Enjoy your next GWAR show. Maybe you'll get lucky enough to be doused in vomit, blood, or entrails. yummy.

all right OOJAY!!!! game on. I've seen well over 300 shows by dozens if not hundreds of bands of all genres and styles. I was going to shows before you were a nasty thought. I don't know what an "infromed" opinion might be, but to think that you are more informed than I is laughable. I don't think MB is full idiots, just idiocy. Those who think that the flavor of the week is the best band ever, or that, say, GWAR is the best live band ever, or that 50 Cent rules, or any of the other inane BS that is on here qualify. You're entitled, to your opinion as I am to mine. That we don't agree elates me to no end. Just curious, are you currently holding tix to any upcoming shows? Enjoy the music of your choice and be entertained, amused, irritated, or indifferent to what's on this board. I'm sure we'll disagree about other things and I look forward to the sparring. :}
