Britain V USA
Come on then.
Who has done more for music? Britain of course. Lets really have it. Forget about Elvis been the first as he wasn't. Remember the UK invented the guitar. I want to seriously debate who has done more for music. Who set agendas? The UK did. Who started the best movements? The UK did. Invention of the guitar Beatle mania Heavy metal. Punk Rock Madchester Britpop Shoegaze Indie America gives us dull A&R and R&B. Forget Dylan. You seriously deabate who has done more for the history of music. This is serious. Lets get it on man! Forget who invented rock as that is just tired. Who has done more creatively from 1950 to the present. Britain by a country mile easily. Even Hendrix had to come here to get famous. I will argue with everyone....AND WIN. I will even bet on me winning. |

cause I'm a rockin and reeling and a rockin and a reeling barbara ann.
All these big A&R companies in the USA and Oasis told them to **** off and they lost out but who cares? Silly music they put on the airwaves to make gormless kids buy. I think the UK, this small little isle, rainswept and dreary has made some of the best music and music scenes ever. Yet the US claim so much. I think it is the most important debate to be had. It is the olympics of debates. And I like hearing the lame arguements the americans make once they latch onto our movements. Like punk rock. All coming over trying to be part of out scene. They latched onto black metal and heavy metal when we exported it. Once the americans concede the UK, this small, rainswept and dreary island provided the world with the greatest music for all the world I will be happy. |

Do you think I'd waste my time posting to get links? Don't you know that serach engines only count your first 5 links? So why would I bother writing 350? So stop accusing crap at me. I know my history and the UK WAS punk. the US was punk like James Dean or like a punk in a clint eastwood film but punk rok was the pistols and the clash. as for this guys remark about the uk or britain. well work it out smart arse. what do you think i mean? Do you want to post your latest boundries and I will see whether your met office boundries are the same as mine? Just get into the debate man and stop been a tell tell tit. The pistols were punk rock. Political punk rock. Who knew about CBGBs outside of the people who went there in 76? Noone, certainly not mid west usa people. They only knew about it later on. Who knew of the pistols after Grundy? EVERYONE. |
