Ozzy solo is my first pick. I did enjoy Dio in Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell spinned on the record player as late as last week, but it doesn't quite feel like Black Sabbath unless Ozzy is behind the mic.

Insulted (but not really) that Black Sabbath with Tony Martin was not included. They released more (and mostly) better albums than with Dio . IN my humble...although...I am a genius so...

Black Sabbath isn't Black Sabbath without Ozzy.

If you treat them as two (or three...or four..or five) different bands depending who's on vox, you can bypass the fan politics and just enjoy the music. Fact remains, Ozzy Sabbath reigns supreme over all

On a side note I just listened to "Zero the Hero" for the first time after seeing people talk about it. What a great song ruined by Ian Gillan's totally inappropriate singing.

Nothing wrong with the Dio albums at all. I only meant that when I think of Black Sabbath, I think of Ozzy. Dio is a fantastic singer, but I don't think of Sabbath when I think of him, I think of Rainbow.

Black Sabbath with Ozzy wins easily in my mind.

I love Rainbow, but I never thought Dio fit that well with Sabbath. I like Martin era Sabbath better than Dio era.

100% in agreement, Ki. That's why I was overjoyed when they decided tht that Black Sabbath formation should be called Dehumanizer. Dio is sublime, but when someone says "Black Sabbath" I think of Ozzy.
