^^Art Zoyd has been on my 'to hear list' for a while. These tracks are great, especially the first and the last one, and while the first was what I expected them to sound like, the last one surprised me. Needless to say, Art Zoyd has moved up the list, for sure
@bob. Year Of No Light sounds really good. Never would've guessed it was a doom metal band. It's very spacey and spread out. Is that generally a strong characteristic of doom metal?

Ah they put out an album this year, I need to really get on it. I always thought of them more as a sludge metal/ post-metal band, more so the latter. The atmospheric and ambient nature of their work mirrors a lot of other post-metal bands like Rosetta, Neurosis, and Cult of Luna, but the genre label is pretty ambiguous.

^^Thanks LoathsomePete, I guess you answered my question. I really need to look more into the post-metal genre. I like Neuroses from what I've heard, the Rosetta track you submitted for the space compilation was great and now this. I think you made A Beginner's Guide to post-metal, if I'm not mistaken. Maybe it would be a good idea to start from there.
