System of a Down works because of the extreme opposites of slow a fast, and those two very different voices.

I'd say, SOAD is a 9/10 band for me
Serj alone, 7/10
Scars on Broadway 3/10
(I was intensely searching for at least ONE really good song on their cd, haven't found it yet)
i say soad is 10/10

SOB is like 7/10

and serj is like 4/10

It's hard to compare the two. Serj and Daron are both insane, but they didn't show it on their works without eachother. Serj's solo has some great tracks, but a lot of dissapointing one's as well.Same with Scars. I think I liked Scars better than Elect the Dead, but SOAD beats both by a mile.

I was watching telly yesterday with my flatmates and their World Long Gone video came on. We all thought it was just a bad SOAD rip-off based on the beards, the musical style and the lyrics. None of us knew it was an actual side project.

"I go crazy.... like I'm crazy."
^^^^^ Pure lyrical genius right there...
