Theres lots of bands there I would have loved to have seen live. Im a little bit jealous now. I try and keep gig tickets too. Newcastle arena continue to make this difficult by taking your ****ing ticket off you to get into the standing room.

I saw Slipknot back in January when they came through town. While I've gathered that a lot of people on this forum don't like them, I've always thought that they put on a really good live show.
If I had to pick my favorite live bands, I guess it would either be Slayer or the old Max Cavalera-era Sepultura. I'm going to see Lamb of God in a couple months. I've never seen them live, but I'm really looking forward to it. |

OK this is a bit excessive but I've drafted it up today just out of sheer curiosity after reading other peoples so I may as well post it.
My first gig was 2001 when i was 16/17 and this is as accurate a list as I can come up with. This is not gonna reflect my taste in music too well but a number of these are bands I used to like, bands I have seen at festivals, seen as support acts, bands I've been dragged to or just bands I've seen because I like to see live bands. I also havent included a lot of the unsigned or local bands I've seen over the years (which probably makes up a good 70% of what I go to see these days). I will have missed some and also the number of times I have seen some of these bands will be incorrect too. I know a number of these bands are best suited to other areas of the forum too, but 99% of the bands I have seen fall under rock or metal in some capacity! 1. Manic Street Preachers (3) 2. Ocean Colour Scene 3. Radiohead 4. The Who 5. Spiderbait 6. In The Grey 7. The Thrills 8. Interpol 9. Boris 10. Anal Penetration 11. Gronibard 12. The Mirimar Disaster 13. Lord Bishop 14. Will Haven 15. Stinking Lizaveta 16. Anal C*nt 17. Shack 18. You Am I 19. Yngwie Malmsteen 20. The Sword 21. Sepultura (with Derrick Green) 22. Penetration 23. Proud Mary 24. Ian Brown 25. Paul Weller 26. Stereophonics (2) 27. Rufus Wainwright 28. Fear Factory 29. The Golden Virgins 30. Agent of The Morai 31. Sebasrockets 32. Misfits 33. GBH 34. Subhumanz 35. Discharge 36. Red Hot Chilli Peppers (2) 37. The Charlatans 38. Foo Fighters (3) 39. Coldplay (2) 40. Placebo (2) 41. Embrace (3) 42. Nelly Furtado (Oh yes! No seriously, I was stood at the front at V2001 and there was no way I was moving even if it did mean watching her!) 43. Muse (4) 44. JJ72 (2) 45. Starsailor 46. Queens of The Stone Age (2) 47. The Others 70. Black Sabbath (with Ozzy & original line up) 71. Anthrax (with original line up) 72. The Dwarves 73. Its a little excessive and largely pointless but **** it I've worked on that today and hurt my brain in the process trying to remember stuff so its going in this thread!
I think I've seen Jimmy Eat World, I was trying to remember earlier. If I did I obviously didnt like them too much! Oh and just to clarify a few things... Bastard Bastard And anyone who said AC/DC, The Rolling Stones or Rage Against The Machine |
