I went to see Metallica last week. They are still a tight live band regardless of what your opinion may be on their studio output these days.

Theres lots of bands there I would have loved to have seen live. Im a little bit jealous now. I try and keep gig tickets too. Newcastle arena continue to make this difficult by taking your ****ing ticket off you to get into the standing room.

I saw Slipknot back in January when they came through town. While I've gathered that a lot of people on this forum don't like them, I've always thought that they put on a really good live show.

If I had to pick my favorite live bands, I guess it would either be Slayer or the old Max Cavalera-era Sepultura.

I'm going to see Lamb of God in a couple months. I've never seen them live, but I'm really looking forward to it.

OK this is a bit excessive but I've drafted it up today just out of sheer curiosity after reading other peoples so I may as well post it.

My first gig was 2001 when i was 16/17 and this is as accurate a list as I can come up with. This is not gonna reflect my taste in music too well but a number of these are bands I used to like, bands I have seen at festivals, seen as support acts, bands I've been dragged to or just bands I've seen because I like to see live bands. I also havent included a lot of the unsigned or local bands I've seen over the years (which probably makes up a good 70% of what I go to see these days). I will have missed some and also the number of times I have seen some of these bands will be incorrect too.

I know a number of these bands are best suited to other areas of the forum too, but 99% of the bands I have seen fall under rock or metal in some capacity!

Its a little excessive and largely pointless but **** it I've worked on that today and hurt my brain in the process trying to remember stuff so its going in this thread!

I think I've seen Jimmy Eat World, I was trying to remember earlier. If I did I obviously didnt like them too much!

Oh and just to clarify a few things...
