Jane's Addiction Reunion(Again)(v4.1))

Jane's Addiction to reunite?

A proper reunion may be in the cards for Jane's Addiction, frontman Perry Farrell told NME.COM.

The band, who were named NME's Godlike Geniuses and performed together for the fist time in 17 years at the NME Awards USA in Los Angeles in April, are planning to meet to discuss getting back together.

"I sure would be open for it now," Farrell told NME.COM. "It sounds exciting to me as a listener. I just like to go out with people I think make beautiful music. As I say, we're not making war, we're making music, so how bad could it be?"

Farrell admitted that bringing together the strong personalities of bandmates Dave Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins wouldn't be easy.

"We've got to figure out a common ground," Farrell said. "Jane's Addiction is a very inflammable group -- there's a lot of very strong personalities. But I still think it would be worth it to get Jane's Addiction together because the people and the party that could ensue from that would be so amazing it's worth making up over."

When asked what it would take to bring the band back together, Farrell responded, "Meetings. We're actually gonna have a meeting -- it's planned for sometime soon. But I'm not promising anything. One day I could just get so hot I could think I can't do it. But I'm probably old enough now that I think I can do it."

Jane's Addiction to reunite? | News | NME.COM

For those of you un-aware, Jane's did a show in April with the original lineup after being honored by the NME. The first time the original lineup has played together in 17 years.

I hope me and Mr. Dave are not the only ones thrilled by this.

yeah this is definitely interesting news. i actually saw a new eric avery disc at a local shop a little while back but needed to buy groceries instead.

as much as i want to be excited by this news i just can't really do it. it's like the old saying goes 'you can't really go back home'. i have a hard time believing this isn't just a cash grab. i hope i'm wrong but considering the main reason average people know the name dave navarro is from his horrible appearances on tv i just can't see it coming close to their original greatness.

I dunno, did you see the NME show. The band was on fire. Dave becomes a non - douchebag LA wannabe star when Eric is around playing bass.

As for Eric's CD, it's very good. Some great songs on it. It's a very different direction though, the production is very modern and there are a lot of electronic and in-organic sounds in it. Still pretty good.

EDIT: Dave, I love your band. The music is very good and is a definite adventure to listen to. Hope you guys can get some good recording great soon.

I'm planning on heading to Lollapoolooza in Chicago this August to see Radiohead and RATM, and hopefully Explosions in the Sky (or Brand New, we haven't decided yet) and Battles (unfortunately my friends probably want to see Broken Social Scene instead but dammit I wanna see Battles :().

Perry Ferrel is gonna be there DJing. Why can't Janes do a reunion show then? I mean c'mon, Janes at Lollapoolooza, makes a lot of sense.

thanks for the compliment.:thumb:

i wasn't able to find footage of the actual event just highlights and celebrity ass kissing on youtube. do you have a link? don't really have time to dig through the site before work.

the band sounded good in the little snippets i caught but i'm not totally sold on the idea of avery really being into it. his body language at the end when everyone else was waving to the crowd is kind of concerning. i can't see a full on reunion lasting much longer than a tour if even that long.

I concur. I doubt the magic will still be there. I'd love to see them prove my opinion wrong though.
