I always have doubt about Jimi Hendrix being the #1 guitar player. I think Jimi Hendrix is a amazing guitar player, but I am skeptical of how guitarist get rated. Yes he's great, but sometimes I wonder if people rank him number one for reasons other then his guitar playing, do they rate Jimi Hendrix because he's got personality, he's cool? Is he more remember for what he did then what he played? Like at the Monterey Pop Festival, he got his freak on with his gutiar, burned it, smashed it, and he played at Woodstock, the syzygy of sex, drugs and Rock and Roll for the baby boomers. Is that the critea for being the best guitar player? Does his showmanship upstage his playing?
