Deathrow - Raging Steel (1987) A German band that seemed to up the speed in their music and ride on the tails of thrash. However there was enough in their riffs to warrant me buying the album at the time. Never the most technical band around instead relying on muscular riffs and bursts of speed.

Tankard - Chemical Invasion (1987) Affectionately refered to as 'Beer Metal' Germany's Tankard were a breath of fresh air as they didn't take themselves too seriously with lyrics about well, beer and giggles. They did play a kick ass brand of punky thrash speed metal that is just damn fun. both Chemical Invasion and The Morning After are great.

Christ I forgot about this thread. I can't believe the awesome discussion I missed.
Deathrow were pretty good for their time (but definitely short-lived) , I had an LP a while ago but I must have lost it in the years since I stopped listening to thrash. The Tankard track is okay I guess, although the vocals are a little off-putting... On a separate note, jackhammer what would you think if I started an avant-garde metal thread? It's far and above my favorite sub-genre of metal and there's an extensive fellowship here of people that listen. And I know there's a number of people (including you) that have a good bit of knowledge poking around there.

I'm a huge thrash fan, and I've been one since I was 16. My favorite bands are Artillery, Vio-Lence, Exodus, Overkill, Metallica, Megadeth, Bonded By Blood, Dark Angel, Kreator, and Metal Church. I had the honor oof seeing Kreaotr and Exodus live last Thursday. Probably one of the best shows I've been too.

I'm gonna say because they're from Quebec. I'm not ragging on them, I agree with you 100%. I ****ing love Voivod and cannot wait for their new album, however I am saddened that it'll be their last

Angel Rat Nothing Face and Dimension Hatross are brilliant albums. I love the jagged riffs and odd time signatures. Off to see them in June in Germany
