Although they've moved more into the power metal sub-genre. I love Angel Dust's 2 albums from the 80's "Into the Dark Past" and "To Dust You Will Decay".
If anyone wants a couple of great thrash albums. I recommend those two. |

Sacred Reich-Surf Nicaragua
Sacred Reich were always one of the more tighter Thrash bands and this track is evident of this. There are numerous time changes and just a little showboating from the excellent drummer Greg Hall. Phil Rind also had a great distinctive voice. First album 'Ignorance' was slightly underproduced but still a great Thrash album. The Surf Nicaragua E.P contained this beauty and a solid version of Sabbath's 'War Pigs'. The American Way broke the band into the mainstream, but unfortunately thrash Metal was coming to the end of it's popularity.

Celtic Frost-Dethroned Emperor
Admittedly they were'nt strictly a Thrash band. They did flirt with Black Metal, Avant-Garde and even Glam Metal in their time but this track is so simple in it's execution but so utterly effective. Great riffs and a drum beat that your mother could replicate. In all seriousness, 'Into The Pandemonium' from '87 was a very distinctive and experimental album for it's time and does'nt really recieve the credit it deserves. This is from that album. Who says that Metal isn't progressive?:

^ Great album and EP!
Although To Mega Therion is an obvious favorite of mine(and one of the best metal albums ever), their follow up was almost equally good. Like the experimental nature of it. CF definitely had some of the most hard hitting riffs ever. Most of the 80s so called "Black metal" was either thrash/heavy metal with Black metal ideologies. You know, stuff like venom, mercyful fate, Bathory, Hell Hammer/Celtic Frost, Possessed etc. And is that a Sacred Reich EP? I haven't listened to it yet. Ignorance is a fine thrash album and The American Way wasn't all that bad either.(although some would prefer the latter) |

Mexican Radio was crap too. It was a band trying to have fun but Tom G Warrior is far too intense for that. It just ended up being laughable. Although many people say that about their entire career. I still can't find 'Into The Pandemonium' anywhere. I used to have it on gatefold vinyl but I have never replaced it.
