So what about my other 9?

PS: LaBrie is acclaimed as one of the best singers in the entire rock genre of all time - regardless of what you think.

Who "acclaimed" that? Did the acclaimers have an extremely high tolerance for nails scraping along a blackboard or something?

As for the others you could hardly call them the greatest ever. Radiohead are okay, they're a bit of a delicacy. LTS? These guys are like a second draft of Dream Theater and are only slightly better because they aren't hindered by one of the "best singers" rock has ever seen.

Symphony X, sorry lespaul, but these guys are a second breed of Dream Theater and to me, I would never place them above the likes of Floyd or Crimson. Not ever.

Who are LTS? Was that a typo or are you Dyslexic?

The following music critics have acclaimed LaBrie as one of the greatest singers rock has ever seen:

Craig Harris.
Phil Carter.
Matthew Kantor.
Robert Taylor.
Phil Carter.
Thom Jurek.
Me.
...Just to name a few.

It's been recorded in countless different prog rock and prog metal magazines.

PS: I used to like Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, etc, but there's a time to move on and let go.

The last line of your post is defining. It basically says you aren't worth my time.

Greatest? Was that a typo or are you dyslexic.

As a matter of fact we are all 40 year-olds. I do hope you're a young child. Got any pictures?

8. Pantera - Same reason RATM is on my list. A complete package.

9. Queen - Timeless music. They will Rock You. Freddie is a legend also, very influential.

10. Tool - So shoot me, 3/4 of the world hates them or doesn't know them. But the level of thought is second to none, live performances are immaculate, and they are a champion band, not a band of champions.

No particular order for the above.
Alright, you bagged my bands in pitiful attempt, so now my turn eh?
So without further ado, I will now critically analyse these bands from a musical perspective added in with my various opinions of course.

"1. ACDC - They had the sound, the image, the talent. Party Starters."

And to this I say "Who cares?" Albeit they were an important and integral part of hard rock and heavy metal influentially, but to say their songs are up to par with the rock of today is a hugely falsified statement. I must admit, some songs such as "TNT" are fun, catchy little tunes. But that's all AC/DC songs are: simple rock. Angus Young's guitar solos were indeed impressive for the time, but c'mon...next to Vai, Satch or Petrucci, etc - they're a joke.

"2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - One of the greats for modern music. Thanks to them for being an enduring wonder over nearly the last two decades."

RHCP are nothing but a horrible case of funk metal meets pop. They're mainstream accessibly makes me cringe. I fail to see what's so interesting about this band. Is it the atrocious rap-like singing? Is it the boring drum beats and fills, the predictable guitar chords and melodies? Or the woeful lyrics which seem to never change? I am impressed with what Flea brings to the music however, but it takes more than one member to make a good band.

"3. Pink Floyd - Easily one of the most influential. So original and entrancing."

Ahh, PF. They were influential alright, but again...Who cares? It's not as if we know how different rock music would be today without them. Maybe it would be better. Compared with the music of today, their art-rock is neither impressive nor interesting. I also can't stand their mainstream accessibility and their turned hard rock/album rock elements.

“Led Zeppelin - Where would music be without them? Manowar would be our heroes.”

Well I'm not sure where music would be. It's obviously possible that an actual talented band came along instead of them and somehow became mainstream despite their musical prowess. So then, what are Led Zeppelin? They are nothing more than a product of mediocre melodies and overrated guitar-playing from Jimi Page - but again - good for the time, and of course influential (yawns).

“Nirvana - Decomposed all the damn pc barriers of the early 90's, highly influential.”

Yes, you keep naming influential bands. I am of the opinion that Nirvana was one of the worst things to ever happen to the mainstream scene. What's this talk about Nirvana saving us from hair metal? Grunge basically turned into its own form of hair metal eventually by way of *shudders* Nickelback and Creed.

“Rage Against The Machine - Woopy, not that diverse in their career, but why change a winning formula. Great material. Crowd Pleasers. “

I must admit I do have a soft spot for “Killing in the Name”. But to be placed in the top 10 rock bands of all time seems almost ludicrous. RatM are – simply put – another form of ****ty Alternative Pop/ Rock for the youth of today. Have fun listening, kids.

“Guns N Roses - Violence like rock had never seen. Axl may be a prick but he and the band make awesome timeless music.”

Timeless music? All they brought was even more boring **** onto our radios and televisions... I swear to God if I hear “Sweet Child O' Mine” one more time, I'm going to have to murder some babies. Slash is one of the most overrated guitarists of all time who of course just plays simple scales in his solos, consequently making them hardly even evident enough to keep me interested. Lyrics? A pile of uninteresting crap. Melodies? What melodies?...That's enough I think; it makes me annoyed just thinking about them.

“Pantera - Same reason RATM is on my list. A complete package.”

Another easy-to-acess metal band. I don't have much to say apart from that. There is some talent here.

“Queen - Timeless music. They will Rock You. Freddie is a legend also, very influential.”

Okay, stop with the influential crap already, for the love of God! Hmm what a great piece from Steve Vai...Brian May only wishes he could even attempt to play something like that. Okay, Queen do have some classic songs but how many are completely dreadful? Every time I hear “I Want it All” (just to name one) I can't help but laugh out loud at the silliness, and wonder if the song was actually meant to be for real.

“Tool - So shoot me, 3/4 of the world hates them or doesn't know them. But the level of thought is second to none, live performances are immaculate, and they are a champion band, not a band of champions.”

Oh how grateful I am for you to mention Tool in your list, we saved the best for last.

This is what my brain goes through every time I think of Tool:

Tool...Oh Tool...Please No...God no...Oh no, you're not on my television are you? No! Radio tool? No pleeease! This has to be some sort of sick joke!

Tool...In a single line: the absolute worst. Thing. To. Ever. Happen. To. Progressive. Metal. Ever...End fact.
Where do I start? Their popularity actually scares me; that's God's honest truth. How on Earth can such a bunch of talentless a-holes ever become this popular? The worst part about it is how countless young teens think they're so cool for listening to them, most probably because they think they're in some secret world where no one else can get the music.
Obviously any moron can understand Tool, but it seems that they give the illusion of being a band for the intellectual. They do this by throwing in nonsensical references to high school psychology and garbage religious references, not to mention other meaningless nonsense. But it seems that as long as there’s something there to figure out, it's going to make some stoned dropout feel special.

As for their music? If there's anyone out there reading this who listens to Tool but hasn't heard of any other progressive metal bands, I pray to the Lord on your behalf. Please stop listening to them! I will do anything for you. Just please discover what progressive metal is actually supposed to be, not this ****.
