The Hendrix experience
Bob Dylan and The Band (can I combine them? They did record and tour together)
The velvet underground
The Doors
Pink Floyd
The original Santana band
Alice in chains
Black sabbath

I feel like that could change any time now

That's really good. Apart from Big Star, Rolling Stones (anyone else listen to ridiculous amounts of their music and ultimately become bored?) and Joy Division.

Also, it's about your enjoyment in their music, weather that be nostalgic or another form. The Top 10 doesn't have to be the best.
