Respect for Motley Crue? ... a) It's Motley Crue. b) Respect can't just be given unconditionally. It's earned.

People can voice their opinions freely, no matter how negative they may seem to you at their own will, even if it's just plain rude. Especially on the internet. Normally I wouldn't get on you about saying such a thing, but you made it clear that you thought it was bad for someone to criticize your choices.
