7. The Replacements
8. Husker Du

It seems every year or so I'll get into a band so much that they'll enter my all time favorites and knock someone I've loved for years down a peg - so I don't think I could ever make a definitive list, especially not just 10...So right now these are the bands I'd name as favorites if I HAD to choose, in no order but the first:

Smashing Pumpkins (this will always stay #1)
My Bloody Valentine
Hum
Radiohead
Nirvana
The Smiths/Morrissey
The Beatles
Thrice
Rush
Catherine Wheel

Other All time favorites: Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Oasis, Stone Temple Pilots, Bad Religion...I will always love those bands, I grew up with them.

Current Favorites I WANT to put on the list but can't kick anyone off: Guided By Voices, Far, Dinosaur Jr, Husker Du, Swervedriver

It's all great music and it's a good launching pad to start from and eventually find more, less mainstream, music.
