So just what IS "ROCK" in the main forum sense these days?!
The ingenious rock'n'roll of the Big Audio Dynamite gets moved to pop, courtesy of me buddeh Jack(hammer).
Coldplay gets moved to indie/alternative(to what??) Now we have a subforum for Classic Rock, Prog, and Psych. Just what IS the world coming to?! So here I am, sitting in me kitchen eating a slice of burnt toast and drinking a cup of earl grey, and I'm trying to figure just what the "ROCK" part of "Rock & Metal" now means. So, let's discuss! What IS plain "rock", these days? |

I was also hoping that by making that section it would attract only fans of that kinda music, and we wouldn't have to worry about Zep and Floyd related threads being spammed into oblivion. The "Rock" in Rock & Metal now should be interpreted as modern mainstream rock. Primarly hard rock. Stuff like Nirvana and what not. |
It's all booboo's fault!

Why is boo boo's username funky? He hasn't become an admin or something?http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...wer/scared.gif

Rock should cover all aspects of the genre. Even crappy bands. Crap rock, in a sad way, is a genre of its own.

Thank you Bb. These are the most entertaining sub genres of music. Obviously, only in my opinion that is. :banghead: |
There is a prog sections?
*checks* cool! I never noticed that before. |
I'd consider plain rock to be stuff like The Wallflowers, though people would argue and say "no, it's folk rock" or no "it's pop rock". I say it's pure rock.
