Well, like Zero said I find it pretty difficult to efficiently classify Alcest into any one genre

Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

Troll's "Drep De Kristne" is a solid album. Although defintelly melodic, it avoids the pitfalls of that subgenre, largely thanks to an active rhythm section and vocal patterns that aren't overly predictable. Liberals would be advised to avoid the lyric sheet, as the lyrics are decidedly un-PC, as one would expect from a member of The Kovenant.

Anyways, the real reason for this thread is I wanted to know if anyone has listened to Agalloch's sort-of side project called Sculptured. Someone told me they were good, but if I am going to stop listening to noise music and noise rock for awhile then there better be a good reason.

Pssh, black metal. Everyone knows all those bands are just ripping off KISS anyway.

I'm going with Dimmu Borgir. I'm not considerably familiar with the genre as a whole, but I have enjoyed quite a few bands from recommendations. But...Dimmu Borgir were the first that I listened to, and I have enjoyed them for years.

Especially with Progenies:
