I wouldn't really consider Alcest black metal anymore. When Neige started he was making black metal alright but he completely broke the mould with the full-length Alcest albums. He took his black metal roots and combined them with other influences to create something really unique and incredible. There are still bits of black metal creeping in here and there but overall Alcest almost defy genrification.
