Does metal require anger and power?
I love all kinds of music, but something about injustice, anger and a desire to be more powerful always seems to flow through metal with me. How does it make you feel?

I don't really see Iron Maiden as being a particularly angry band.

I think thats more of an after effect. It draws a certain type of person to it [metal] and because of that, it breeds angry bands. Not to say that they are playing to an audience, I just think angry kids are inspired to play metal. When they do, they have to be angry.
I still strongly suggest that its very Machiavellian. If you can't be loved then be feared. And these anti-social akward bastards live vicariously through their Viking Overlords until they've convinced themselves that their the same way. I really really hate metal kids. I'm sorry you aren't the life of the party with your filthy hair and your shoe gazer mentality, but make a ****ing effort, we're not all going to come to you. /rant |

anger? Not necessarily.
Power? I would say not required but it is extremely recommended (so to speak). Metal is a very powerful genre. |
