I am not shocked at all....

You could say that any form of music that you engross yourself in will provide a juxtaposition in your life but as for being smarter? I'm not so sure but I definitely concur that anyone who looks behind the mainstream fodder and embraces it has an inquisitive mind.

I'm not surprised either, loads of geeks like black metal.

Slipknot is metal, just less aggressive, commercial metal. Dragonforce, well, lmao.

You wouldn't think so looking at this forum where 9/10 of your average slipknot fans can post stuff like

The audience doesn't make the music. I actually listen to Slipknot a bit myself. I don't really care what everyone else thinks of a band. I just like their music.
