And comparing Hangar 18 and the Unforgiven 3 is just fail.
first of all, the big four of thrash were the bands that improved on the thrash metal genre. i didnt mean create i meant created a bigger surrounding of thrash metal. and secondly, saying Hangar 18 and Unforgiven 3 are their best songs is STRICTLY opinionated.

I vote Megadeth and I don't even like Dave. But, after wasting my time and money on Death Magnet... I give up on Metallica... I was SO disappointed...

As far as greatest four Thrash Metal Bands... OverKill, Slayer, Venom, Motorhead... yes Motorhead, they were doing LONG before the others! Personally I think OverKill perfected it!

Well, they may have been an influence but they arent a thrash metal band.

They've both taken the same path musically. I have an uter hate for Lars Ulrich, hopefully he doesn't read this and sue me.

Metallica stole some of Mustaine's material.

My personal preference is Megadeth, they've got way better solo's, most of the time.

I guess putting it in terms of 'who is the grestest' Metallica. They've influenced a fair amount, comparing to Megadeth. They're more highly ranked in terms of skill members, mainly becasue of Burton/Rob. Although Marty is a great guitarist for Megadeth.

MEGADETH.

Really? I totally respect your opinion but I think it was a way to say "look how cool and emotional we are." They missed the cool factor by a mile.

Cool? For the duration of the film they swore at and berated each other like children who couldnt get their own way. They had a shrink with them! Theres nothing cool about that, as you rightly state but if anything I would say Metallica allowed the release of a film that portrayed them at the point of self destruction rather than released something that they believe makes them look at all "cool". Thats what I like about it, it isnt self indulgent its actually rather cringeworthy at times to see how they were carrying on around one another. They could have gotten rid of the camera's at any point and cancelled the documentary and if you recall there is a scene IN the film where they consider doing that.
