Well about half the bands i have ever head, then changed my mind.

The biggest being Floyd for the same reason Urban said. I was much younger, and not open to much of anything.

U2... Because I hated their new stuff with a passion, and it was really all I heard. I just remember that one stupid video with the elephant and thinking "what the **** is this?"

Bruce Springsteen... Because I used to be a conservative.

John Lennon... ^

The Smiths... Same reason Urban gave, just their fans... and Morrissey being such an epic douchebag.

Sonic Youth... Didn't understand the hype at the time, then again all I heard was some stuff from Sonic Nurse.

Prince... Still not a fan, but I can appreciate now that he's great at what he does.

Sex Pistols... I used to hate punk in general, but these guys especially. That kinda came with being a proggie. But once they grew on me it got me into a lot of punk.

I used to really hate Tool.

I'm not sure if that counts though because I still do :/.

It is an old thread. To introduce a 'both' option now would be pointless.

There aren't many bands I used to hate and now love. Usually it's the other way around. Here goes though:

New York Dolls (I still think Rundgren overproduced their first album, but I appreciate them a lot more now)

The Doors (well, I hated them, then I fell in love with them, and now I hate them again. But the concept's the same)

The Kinks (in my defense, all I had was their wretched first album)
