In my opinion, Metallica of the first four akbums is much better the Megadeth (well, even though I didn't realy liked 'Kill'em All') because of their high technique and deep lyrics, but since they have gone doing MTV album in order to make money and not music, I think that Megadeth had topped them.

I just love 'Peace sells... but how's buying', it's a classic.

The first three or four Metallica records were awesome. I loved the first two Megadeth records and then Rust In Peace. Countdown To extinction had some good songs too. But both bands started making some horrid records at the same time. I hated Load and reLoad, as much as Risk.

So I would have to say it's a tie.

Load and ReLoad were just bad. St Anger was insulting to all of the fans that loved the early records. Megadeth's first few records were the best stuff. After Countdown to Extinction, it got pretty bad. The new one's OK. So I don't really favor either way any more.

Default Bands you used to hate

I was just reading a post where someone was talking about staying open minded about music you didn't like the first time you heard it. Here is a list of some bands that I disliked or outright hated at first:

Tool
Pink Floyd
Primus
Modest Mouse
Bright Eyes
2pac
JayZ
Alice In Chains
Rush

So, let's remember, if you hate something now, you might give it a second chance, or you may not know what you're missing.

I didn't really like Modest Mouse either, when I first heard them. But now I've got about 4 of their albums.

And since there are a bunch of Elliott Smith lovers here, I decided to check him out. Didn't really like him at first (to slow and not enough action for me), but I've gotten to quite like alot of the songs on Figure 8. I haven't checked out the other ones yet.

I can't think of too many people who don't dislike Rush the first time they hear them. It takes a while to get used to the voice, I think.

Rush was one band I hated so much I actually went around trying to make people feel bad for liking them........what a f*ckbag I was.

Yeah, I like Rush now, but I remember when my brothers and I were younger, we would make fun of Geddy Lee's voice and talk about how much Rush sounded like a bunch of girls. So don't feel bad.
