In all seriousness, I despise these threads because it is all subjective. If you are talking about angry , then lyrics could become the focal point and not music. Marvin Gaye hated the Vietnam war yet he chose to be eloquent about it. Is it any less angry because the music is soul?

I think that anger is genuinely uttered in 5 seconds of Bodies by the Sex Pistols (1:52) and no matter what I think of the band overall. My opinion of punk and pure anger is delivered in those few seconds.

As for heaviness. Listen to the Swans. Realise that they are probably the most abrasive band that has ever lived and end the convo! ( you have to give it a couple of minutes to kick in). This is the not the best example either. Youtube is disturbingly light on Swans.

To all intents and purposes that song would fit the criteria but to me it is just another variant on established formula that merely up the ante. I personally do not think it is any more intense than anything of Slayers Raining Blood. Sure it is faster and the vocals are even more guttaral but it doesnt make it any heavier. The swans were a no-wave band ( meaning that they were not ascribed to any particular genre), yet without trying their music is cavernous and angry and heavy at the same time.

I would agree with this to a certain extent. It is certainly a song that she has a real affinity for and you can hear how personal it is by the way she spits the words out. Whatever else I thnink about her, I think this is a great song.
