But that is pretty typical of hardcore.

The intro of Master, Passion, Greed by Nightwish.

It starts taming out a bit, but I freaking love the first part of that song.

Rule the World by Kamelot is good times.

No idea what the heaviest song I have would be. Between the buried and me comes to mind though.

There's lots of ways to define heavy. I'm going to go with Peter Gabriel's "Family Snapshot".

Depends on the definition of heavy. For pure loud, wall of sound thick distortion, a couple of Rammstein songs come to mind. For immense energy, accompanied by non-human sounding harsh vocals, I'd say Converge's 'Heaven in Her Arms' is probably the heaviest I've heard.

For it being emotionally draining and really jumping out to get you in that vein, Glassjaw's 'And everything you wanted to know about silence' would be my pick, followed by a Neil Young number by a name that escapes my mind but was the ending theme to the film Philadelphia.

Err right...some interesting suggestions here

but as far as anger goes there really is no band whatsoever that were angrier than CRASS

have a listen to the Feeding of the Five Thousand album...read the lyrics to REALLY understand the depths of and reasons for their anger. (probably makes more sense if you were about in the UK in the eighties of course)

I concur.

For rock/metal I would say:
"Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" by Drowning Pool
or
"Stilleto" by Symphony in Peril

Yes, perhaps the songs are played out.
Maybe even too basic.
But I've never seen people get angrier and more abusive to anything else.
Well... maybe all the entire genre of metalcore.

Bridge Burner- Magrudergrind

Not a HUGE fan of Grind, but I thought it was pretty good...and mean.
