The Chili Peppers are technially an 80's band, but did majority of work throughout the 90's. So them and Smashing Pumpkins.

The 90s has a number of bands that brought a lot of cool new sounds to the public. I liked STP, Soundgarden (they technically started in the late 80s but got big in the 90s), Helmet, Pantera, Korn, Deftones, Foo Fighters, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails and Pearl Jam. There's a number of bands that I've liked from that era.
