Youth (bass player) is a renowned producer and has made albums with Paul McCartney (fireman), produced Crowded House and The Orb whilst Jaz (vocalist) has worked with orchestras and Operas (he also was born around the corner from me useless info!). Geordie Walker (guitar) has played in some of the best Industrial Metal bands that few have heard of! Damage Manual and Murder. Inc. As a complete body of work that spans over 30 years, Killing Joke can pretty much play whatever they want and get results. Awesome, awesome band.

I have their discography on my computer and hope to finally start seriously listening to them within the next couple of weeks. They're pretty much right up my ally, and I really enjoy the dabbling of tracks I've heard by them.

I was brought up with Killing Joke, and I still love them. They're just such a creative blend of genres and subgenres and all that snazzy stuff that you can't pigeonhole them, and sometimes you need that in a band. It's a rare treat to have a band going on for so long and their new material STILL being amazing. I've found a lot of my favourite music through reccommended videos on KJ songs on YouTube...! I'm addicted to the Pandemonium album at the moment. Which, might I add, has one of my favourite pieces of album artwork ever.

Eighties is a wicked tune and one of my personal favourite KJ songs of all time. I was lucky enough to have them play it as an encore leaving the guitar at the end to sit and radiate feedback.
Of course Eighties is now infamous because of the famous Nirvana track (Cobain was a fan of KJ before they became famous) |

It's funny, the whole lawsuit basically started as a pissing match between the bands managers. I mean shit, most bands from the '90's are guilty of ripping them off in some regards.
Been listening to a lot of Hosannas from the Basement of Hell and Extremities, Dirt & Various Repressed Emotions a lot in the car lately. While so many bands play at being angry in their music, you can really feel the anger and frustration about being stuck financially on "Age of Greed". I'm also convinced they accidentally invented the nu-metal sound on "Inside The Termite Mound", at least with a heavier emphasis on punchy bass popping and industrial overtones. |
