love the kinks, they produced some true masterpieces. They were well ahead of their time in my opinion.

He is the Philip Larkin of pop.

I'd say the title, "the Philip Larkin of pop" belongs to Morrissey, but I definitely agree with the sentiment.

I don't like Plastic Man, You Really Got Me, or particularly Lola so much, but I like plenty of their songs.
