Well yeah, grunge was a mix of punk and metal some bands sound more punk, others sound more metal. Nirvana in their Nevermind album sounded sort of like punk but not quite there.

I was never a big fan of most grunge, but Nirvana came from a much more punk background than most grunge bands.

Nirvana are certainly not a "punk rock" band though.

I think this entire thread is responding in audio/political agendas.

I think we should judge the band by what you think, judge the music by what you think, and know that when people come back with snarky, sarcastic, condescending rhetoric their just wrapping their responses in the same fear that we've seen above.

In my opinion Nirvana had a strong punk influence, and some of their stuff I would call punk, but I don't think all the did was punk.
