alice in chains isnt bad....dont get me wrong Nirvana is my favorite band i basically only listen to them and its been 5 years now...i mean ill mix it in with Alice in Chains and a very tiny bit of Pearl Jam but they just bore me...unfortunately there will never be another Nirvana, but to say Alice in Chains is terrible is just ridiculous and that statement alone without me ever reading another post from you makes me think you are just blinded to the art that was Grunge, many often consider AIC the better of the 2 bands which i think is quite extreme but both will sorely be missed RIP Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley

There were better bands than bot AIC and Nirvana....Mudhoney was just as good if not better than those bands....I can name tons of other grunge bands that are better.

I don't think they were saying they are the best, just that they don't suck.

And I like them better than Nirvana.

The fact that this is about 10 different Nirvana threads merged suggest to me it shouldn't.

And nobody is forcing you to reply in it.

Anyway, I personally think that Nirvana sucks anus,
but, i believe that they were one of the forerunners in developing
the modern conception of "grunge".
although they used punk methodology to achieve that,
i would still classify them as grunge.

Despite my hate for Kurt Cobain and his overrated band, he did, in his day, say a few truthful and quoteable things:

Quote:
"Punk Rock should mean freedom, liking and accepting everything that you like, playing whatever you want, as sloppy as you want as long as it's good and has passion."

Quote:
"Rap music is the only vital form of music introduced since punk rock"

Oh my god!
I scroll down the page to see if there is some reasonable people out there.. But all I see is the word Grunge.
" Nirvana was so totally a GRUNGE band! "
If you really like Nirvana, like me, you'd know that they didn't count themselves as a grunge band, because grunge is absolutely nothing and no one knows who started the "grunge" music.

GRUNGE IS NOTHING! Nirvana played Rock with a hint of Punk!
