like that Nat King Cole song - he's "unforgettable"

yes, AIC is a vastly superior band

i'd take their unplugged over Nirvana's unplugged anyday

Alice in Chains is my favourite band, but I still prefer Nirvana's unplugged session. It just had this 'folk' touch to it, and I really love how Cobain plays guitar.

I think Bleach is actually a crap album that gains retrospective credence purely because it sounded nothing like Nevermind. In Utero is their best work by a million miles.

^^the electric songs just sound really monotonous to me

nothing exceptional besides the cover of "The Man Who Sold the World".....

whereas the AIC set was pretty diverse and quite strong

it's a good testament to your songwriting abilities when your songs sound as good acoustic as electric

Why wouldn't I like Melvins? Gluey Porch Treatments is one of my favourite albums... ever. I just think Bleach is a pretty poor effort that people think is cool to like more than Nevermind, because of how severely uncool that album is nowadays.

seriously, my fave Nirvana is Bleach, i like In Utero and Incesticide just fine but Nevermind? I dunno, it's just too schizphrenic and the only thing resonant about it is that it reminds me of this Belgian girl i had a crush on who was heavily into it
Haha yes, we still have the Il Duce.

He said he wished he had taken the offer and he knows someone that did take the offer, said his name was Allen. He even passed a polygraph test.
I've seen that documentary quite a few times and I still don't believe any of that. I wouldn't believe anything that came out of that El Duce guy's backside. There were people pointing cameras at him for a documentary that would be watched by a huge number of people, of course he was going to talk shit. As much as Courtney was a fucked-up junkie at the time I really don't believe that she would actually pay someone to kill him.

I definitely prefer In Utero over Nevermind but Bleach is the Nirvana album I reach for first when I do want to listen to them these days, it just suits my current taste a bit more. I can tell you that it is certainly not crap and it has a certain raw intensity to it that only appeared briefly on subsequent releases. Songs like 'Blew', 'About a Girl', 'School', 'Negative Creep' and 'Love Buzz' never get tiring. I've been listening to Nirvana for about 11 years now and for me Bleach has stood up to repeated listens better than Nevermind and In Utero.

I agree, Nirvana's unplugged is a classic. 85% or better of all the unplugged sessions were good performances.

Bleach is a basic raw sounding (Nirvana) album. In Utero is my personal favorite.
